GBL is a chemical which is widely available online and on the street; and when taken it can produce GHB in the body using a natural chemical reaction. This drug is known for its euphoric effects and is also used as a sedative and to relieve anxiety.

However, high doses of GHB / GBL are known to cause a slowed heart rate, hypothermia, nausea, aggression, incontinence, unconsciousness and seizures, and the withdrawal effects of this drug can also be severe, and include anxiety, insomnia, tremors confusion, delirium psychosis, and agitation to name a few.
